apparating
Instantaneous magical travel
Apparating is a term from the Harry Potter universe for teleporting magically—vanishing from one location and instantly appearing in another.
The word has spread beyond fan communities to describe any sudden, unexplained appearance: He just apparated in the kitchen doorway.
The opposite is disapparating.
