ankling
Leisurely on foot
Ankling is a running technique focusing on the ankle's role in propulsion—lifting the foot by flexing the ankle rather than driving from the knee or hip.
Runners use ankling drills to develop efficient foot strike and push-off: We spent ten minutes ankling before the main workout.
The term also appears in old Hollywood slang, where to ankle meant to quit or leave a studio, making ankling a departure: After ankling the production, she signed elsewhere.
