anejo

Long-aged agave spirit

Añejo describes tequila or other spirits aged for an extended period, typically one to three years in oak barrels.

The Spanish word means "aged" or "old." Aging produces smoother, more complex flavors with notes of vanilla, caramel, and oak: I'll have the añejo neat.

Extra añejo designates even longer aging, usually three years or more.
