anagrams

Reshuffled word puzzles

Anagrams are words or phrases formed by rearranging the letters of another word or phrase, using each letter exactly once.

The classic example pairs "listen" and "silent." Creating anagrams is both a word game and a literary device; some anagrammists seek meaningful connections between the original and its rearrangement.

She discovered that "astronomer" anagrams to "moon starer." The term also applies to the puzzle of finding such rearrangements.
