Vertical spelling game
Upwords is a word game similar to Scrabble, but players can stack letter tiles on top of existing letters to create new words.
The stacking mechanic adds a vertical dimension to crossword-style play: I changed "cat" to "bat" by stacking a B on top.
The game rewards transforming existing words rather than just building outward.
