allochthon
Migrated geological mass
An allochthon is rock or geological material that has been transported from its place of origin to its current location, typically by tectonic forces or large-scale earth movements.
The term contrasts with autochthon, material that formed where it now rests.
In ecology, the word sometimes describes organisms or organic matter originating elsewhere: Allochthonous nutrients washed into the lake from surrounding hillsides.
