afternoon prayers

Late day worship

Afternoon prayers are religious devotions performed in the middle part of the day, observed across many faiths.

In Judaism, this is mincha, traditionally recited between midday and sunset.

In Islam, two of the five daily prayers—dhuhr and asr—fall in the afternoon.

Christian traditions vary, with some observing midday or vespers services.

The phrase may also refer informally to any regular midday spiritual practice.
