abandoned lot
Empty urban plot
An abandoned lot is a piece of land, usually in an urban area, that has been left vacant and neglected.
The property may hold remnants of demolished structures or simply be overgrown with weeds: Kids cut through the abandoned lot on their way to school.
Such lots often become dumping grounds or informal gathering places.
