Yogi Berra

Yogi Berra was an American baseball catcher who played most of his career for the New York Yankees and won ten World Series championships.

Beyond his Hall of Fame playing career, he became famous for paradoxical, seemingly nonsensical sayings known as "Yogi-isms," such as It ain't over till it's over and When you come to a fork in the road, take it.

His name has become shorthand for accidentally profound or amusingly illogical statements.
