Wilhelm II
Mustached Prussian monarch
Wilhelm II was the last German Kaiser (emperor), ruling from 1888 until his abdication at the end of World War I in 1918.
His aggressive foreign policy and support for militarism contributed to the outbreak of the war.
He spent his remaining years in exile in the Netherlands.
The Kaiser's posturing helped destabilize prewar Europe.
