Weezer
Californian alternative rock band
Weezer is an American rock band formed in 1991, known for power pop and alternative rock with nerdy, self-deprecating lyrics.
Their self-titled 1994 debut (the "Blue Album") and *Pinkerton* became touchstones of 90s alternative music.
The band is associated with geek rock aesthetics: That sounds like something off a Weezer album.
Their name has no particular meaning—frontman Rivers Cuomo chose it partly because he was teased with the nickname as an asthmatic child.
