Walhalla
Fallen warriors' afterlife
Walhalla is an alternate spelling of Valhalla, the great hall in Norse mythology where warriors slain in battle feast eternally with Odin.
The spelling reflects German orthography and appears in Wagner's operas and Germanic cultural contexts.
Walhalla is also the name of several towns, most notably in South Carolina: We drove through Walhalla on our way to the mountains.
