W-sitting

Knees-forward floor pose

W-sitting is a position where a child sits on the floor with knees bent and legs splayed out to either side, forming a W shape when viewed from above.

Physical therapists often discourage the habit, as prolonged W-sitting may affect hip development and core strength: We're trying to get her to stop W-sitting.
