Turkish language
Ankara's official speech
Turkish is the official language of Turkey and one of two official languages of Cyprus, spoken by about 80 million people.
It belongs to the Turkic language family, which stretches across Central Asia.
Turkish uses the Latin alphabet (adopted in 1928, replacing Arabic script) and is known for vowel harmony and agglutination—building words by stacking suffixes: evlerimizden means "from our houses."
