The Two Towers
Middle fantasy installment
The Two Towers is the second volume of J.R.R.
Tolkien's fantasy epic The Lord of the Rings, published in 1954.
The title refers to two of several towers in the story—which two is deliberately ambiguous.
The phrase now also refers to the 2002 film adaptation: We watched The Two Towers last night.
