The Snowman
Carrot-nosed yard sculpture
The Snowman is a 1978 wordless picture book by Raymond Briggs, depicting a boy whose snowman comes to life one winter night.
The animated film adaptation (1982) is a British Christmas tradition, famous for the song "Walking in the Air." The phrase also refers generically to any figure made of packed snow: The kids built a snowman in the yard.
