The Host
Body being parasitized
The Host refers to the consecrated bread in Christian Eucharist, believed by Catholics and some other Christians to become the body of Christ during Mass.
The word comes from Latin *hostia*, meaning sacrificial victim.
A priest elevates the Host during consecration: The congregation knelt as the priest raised the Host.
Receiving the Host is central to communion.
