Texas State Fair
Big Tex's home
The Texas State Fair is an annual exposition held in Dallas, typically running from late September through mid-October.
One of the largest state fairs in the United States, it features livestock shows, carnival rides, fried food competitions, and the Cotton Bowl football game between Texas and Oklahoma.
Big Tex, a 55-foot talking cowboy statue, serves as its iconic mascot: We go to the Texas State Fair every year for the fried Oreos and the rivalry game.
