Swiss flag
Red square cross
The Swiss flag is a white cross on a red background, one of only two square sovereign-state flags in the world.
The design dates to the medieval period and represents Christianity and Swiss independence.
The Red Cross symbol is a color-reversed version, honoring Switzerland's humanitarian legacy: The Swiss flag flew above the embassy.
