Mexican flag

Eagle-and-serpent banner

The Mexican flag is the national flag of Mexico, featuring three vertical stripes of green, white, and red with the national coat of arms—an eagle perched on a cactus devouring a serpent—centered on the white stripe.

The design derives from Aztec legend about the founding of Tenochtitlan.

Mexican flags lined the parade route during Independence Day celebrations.
