Slap the pile

Slapjack is a card game where players race to slap jacks as they appear, with the fastest hand winning the pile.

The name combines the slapping action with the target card.

Slapjack also refers to a flat, flexible weapon—a leather pouch filled with lead shot, used to strike someone: The thug pulled a slapjack from his pocket.

In cooking, a slapjack is a pancake or flapjack.
