Jersey
Crown dependency island
Jersey is a British Crown dependency in the English Channel, the largest of the Channel Islands.
It lends its name to New Jersey, the American state.
A Jersey cow is a breed from the island, known for rich milk.
Jersey also appears in place names and as a colloquial shortening of New Jersey: I grew up in Jersey. (Lowercase jersey is a garment or fabric.)
