Saint James
Zebedee's fisherman son
Saint James most often refers to James the Greater, one of Jesus's twelve apostles, martyred around 44 AD and venerated as the patron saint of Spain.
His supposed burial site at Santiago de Compostela became one of Christianity's major pilgrimage destinations.
Saint James also designates James the Less, another apostle, or James the Just, brother of Jesus.
The name appears in countless churches, streets, and places: the Cathedral of Saint James, Saint James's Park.
