Weekend Update
Satirical news segment
Weekend Update is the long-running fake news segment on Saturday Night Live, featuring anchors delivering satirical commentary on current events with a deadpan newsroom style.
The format—jokes disguised as headlines, delivered from behind a desk—has become a template for comedy news programs: I get most of my news from Weekend Update.
