Ruth Bader Ginsburg
Ruth Bader Ginsburg was an American jurist who served on the Supreme Court from 1993 until her death in 2020.
A pioneer for women's rights, she argued landmark gender discrimination cases before the Court in the 1970s.
In her later years she became a cultural icon, particularly among liberals, earning the nickname "Notorious RBG." Her dissents from conservative majority opinions made her a symbol of judicial resistance: She pulled a full RBG in that meeting.
