Ringbearer

Pillow-carrying youngster

A ringbearer is the person, typically a young boy, who carries the wedding rings down the aisle during a marriage ceremony: Her nephew served as ringbearer.

In Tolkien's mythology, the Ringbearer is whoever carries the One Ring—most notably Frodo Baggins, tasked with destroying it.

The fantasy sense has become culturally prominent enough that the word often evokes Middle-earth before weddings.
