Petaluma

North Bay town

Petaluma is a city in Sonoma County, California, located about 40 miles north of San Francisco.

Known historically as "the Egg Basket of the World" for its once-dominant poultry industry, it has evolved into a small city with a preserved Victorian downtown and proximity to wine country.

The name derives from a Coast Miwok word.
