heritage buildings
Preserved old architecture
Heritage buildings are structures officially recognized for their historical, architectural, or cultural significance and protected from demolition or major alteration.
The designation typically comes from government bodies and restricts what owners can do to the property: The city refused to let them demolish the heritage building.
Also called heritage properties or listed buildings (British).
