Paris-Dakar

African endurance competition

The Paris-Dakar is an off-road endurance rally race, originally running from Paris, France to Dakar, Senegal across the Sahara Desert.

Often called simply the Dakar, it tests vehicles and drivers over thousands of miles of harsh terrain—sand dunes, rocky plains, and extreme heat.

The race has relocated to South America and later Saudi Arabia due to security concerns, but retains its original name.

Categories include motorcycles, cars, and trucks.
