Palm
Pre-iPhone pocket computer
Palm as a proper noun refers to the company that made the Palm Pilot, an early handheld digital organizer that pioneered personal digital assistants in the 1990s: I still have my old Palm somewhere.
The brand became nearly synonymous with PDAs before smartphones displaced them. (Lowercase palm is the hand surface or the tropical tree.)
