face palm
Slap your forehead
Face palm (also facepalm) is the gesture of covering your face with your hand, expressing embarrassment, frustration, or disbelief—usually at someone else's stupidity or your own mistake.
The gesture predates the internet, but the term spread through memes and reaction images.
As a verb: I face-palmed when I realized I'd been arguing the wrong point.
A mental face palm is imagining the gesture without performing it.
