PVP stands for player versus player, a mode in video games where human players compete directly against each other rather than against computer-controlled opponents.
The term originated in multiplayer online games and MMORPGs but now applies across gaming genres.
I prefer PVP to grinding against bots.
PVP can also refer to the competitive community or culture surrounding such gameplay.
In non-gaming contexts, PVP occasionally appears as an abbreviation for polyvinylpyrrolidone, a synthetic polymer used in pharmaceuticals and cosmetics.
