Oshawa

Toronto's eastern neighbor

Oshawa is a city in southern Ontario, Canada, on the northwestern shore of Lake Ontario east of Toronto.

Historically a major automotive manufacturing center, it was long home to General Motors Canada operations: He grew up in Oshawa when the plant was still running.

The name comes from an Ojibwe word meaning "crossing" or "where we must leave our canoes."
