Neopets
Online pet site
Neopets is a virtual pet website launched in 1999 where users adopt and care for digital creatures.
Players feed their pets, play games, and accumulate Neopoints to spend in the site's economy.
The platform defined early-2000s internet culture for many millennials: I spent hours on Neopets after school.
It remains active, though with a smaller, nostalgic user base.
