Michiganders

Detroit area natives

Michiganders are people from or living in Michigan.

The term is the most common demonym for residents of the state, though Michiganians also appears: Michiganders take their lakes seriously.

The -gander ending is unusual among state demonyms, perhaps influenced by the word's rhyme with gerrymander.
