Menlo Park

Phonograph birthplace town

Menlo Park is a city in the San Francisco Bay Area of California, known primarily as the headquarters of Meta (formerly Facebook) and a hub of Silicon Valley's tech industry.

The name also evokes Thomas Edison's famous laboratory in Menlo Park, New Jersey, where he developed the phonograph and practical incandescent light bulb in the 1870s.

Several major venture capital firms have offices in Menlo Park.
