Melitta

German coffeemaker brand

Melitta is a German brand of coffee filters and brewing equipment, often used generically for paper cone filters: Hand me a Melitta for the pour-over.

The name comes from the company's founder, Melitta Bentz, who invented the paper coffee filter in 1908.

Melitta is also a given name of Greek origin meaning "honeybee."
