Luddites
Technology's sworn enemies
Luddites were early 19th-century English textile workers who destroyed labor-saving machinery they believed threatened their livelihoods.
The term now applies broadly to anyone resistant to new technology or suspicious of technological progress: My father's such a Luddite—he still refuses to use a smartphone.
The label often carries mild derision, though some embrace it as principled skepticism.
