Lancastrians

Henry VI's supporters

Lancastrians are people from Lancaster or Lancashire in northwest England.

Historically, the term refers to supporters of the House of Lancaster during the Wars of the Roses (1455–1487), the English civil wars fought against the Yorkists for the throne.

The Lancastrian claim descended from John of Gaunt, Duke of Lancaster: The Lancastrians rallied behind Henry VI.
