Korean writing
Sejong's alphabetic system
Korean writing refers to Hangul, the alphabet created in 1443 to represent the Korean language.
Unlike Chinese characters, which Korean once borrowed, Hangul uses systematic letter blocks where consonants and vowels combine into syllable units: Learning Korean writing is easier than learning Chinese.
The script is noted for its logical design—each letter shape reflects how the sound is produced in the mouth.
