Community service organization
Kiwanis is an international service organization focused on community improvement and children's welfare.
Founded in 1915, local Kiwanis clubs conduct charitable projects, fundraisers, and youth programs.
Members are called Kiwanians: The Kiwanis club sponsored the playground renovation.
The name has no clear etymology—early claims about Native American origins appear to be invented.
