Kinsey scale

Sexuality measurement continuum

The Kinsey scale is a seven-point spectrum measuring sexual orientation, ranging from 0 (exclusively heterosexual) to 6 (exclusively homosexual), with 3 representing equal attraction to both sexes.

Developed by sexologist Alfred Kinsey in the 1940s, it challenged the binary view of sexuality as either straight or gay: She described herself as a 2 on the Kinsey scale.
