Karens is the plural of Karen, slang for a middle-aged white woman perceived as entitled, demanding, or unreasonably aggressive—especially toward service workers or in public confrontations.
The stereotype involves asking to speak to the manager, calling the police over minor disputes, or demanding special treatment: A bunch of Karens complained about the music at the coffee shop.
The term emerged from internet culture in the late 2010s and is sometimes considered sexist for targeting women specifically.
