Jack and Jill
Pail-fetching duo
Jack and Jill is a traditional English nursery rhyme about two children who go up a hill to fetch water, with Jack falling and Jill tumbling after.
The names have become shorthand for a generic boy-and-girl pair or any ordinary couple: a Jack and Jill bathroom (accessible from two rooms), a Jack and Jill party (a co-ed wedding shower).
