Meg March

Meg March is the eldest of the four sisters in Louisa May Alcott's novel *Little Women* (1868).

She represents conventional Victorian femininity—domestic, romantic, and inclined toward respectability.

Meg eventually marries John Brooke and embraces modest married life, embodying the path of traditional womanhood against which her more rebellious sister Jo chafes.
