Ranger Rick
Ranger Rick is a raccoon character and mascot of the National Wildlife Federation's children's magazine of the same name, published since 1967.
The magazine teaches kids about nature and conservation.
By extension, calling someone a Ranger Rick suggests an earnest outdoorsy type or amateur naturalist: He went full Ranger Rick on our camping trip, identifying every bird call.
