Hungry Hungry Hippos
Frantic marble-eating game
Hungry Hungry Hippos is a children's tabletop game where players rapidly press levers to make plastic hippo heads gobble marbles from a central pool.
The player whose hippo captures the most marbles wins.
The name has become shorthand for frenzied, competitive grabbing: It was like Hungry Hungry Hippos when the free samples came out.
