Hodgkin's disease

Reed-Sternberg cell malignancy

Hodgkin's disease is a cancer of the lymphatic system, characterized by the progressive enlargement of lymph nodes, spleen, and other lymphoid tissue.

Named for the English physician Thomas Hodgkin, who first described it in 1832.

The more precise term Hodgkin's lymphoma is now preferred in medical contexts.

It is one of the more treatable cancers when caught early.
