J.D. Salinger
J.D.
Salinger was an American writer best known for *The Catcher in the Rye* (1951), a novel about adolescent alienation that became a touchstone for generations of young readers.
After early success, Salinger became famously reclusive, publishing little after the 1960s and avoiding public life until his death in 2010.
His name often evokes literary reclusiveness itself: He's gone full Salinger.
