General Tso
Spicy chicken's namesake
General Tso is a Chinese-American dish of deep-fried chicken pieces coated in a sweet, slightly spicy sauce.
Named after a 19th-century Chinese military leader, the dish was invented in the United States and is virtually unknown in China.
It's a staple of American Chinese takeout: I'll have the General Tso's chicken with fried rice.
